When to take a look
The service covers business electricity and gas for eligible premises in England, Scotland and Wales. A signed lease is required in every case.
Business energy can usually be reviewed during the final 12 months of an existing contract.
If you are on variable or out-of-contract rates, it is worth reviewing the available options promptly.
Opening, moving into or adding business premises can create a useful point to arrange the next supply contract.
A useful business energy comparison starts with how much electricity and gas your premises use. When reviewing business electricity or business gas rates, the unit price alone may not describe the full annual cost. Check standing charges, estimated annual kWh usage, contract term, renewal dates, payment arrangements and supplier conditions before comparing options. Businesses in Plymouth and across Devon and Cornwall can begin with a recent bill, the current end date and the premises details.
SME Sorted helps eligible business customers explore suitable participating-supplier options. Quotes are subject to eligibility and the supplier's final terms, and no saving is guaranteed.

How it works

A recent bill helps us identify your usage, supply details and contract end date. A signed lease is required in every case.
We consider your timing and requirements, then come back with up to three suitable options where available.
You choose whether any option works for your business. There is no pressure and no obligation to proceed.
Useful information
Your bill can help confirm your current supplier, electricity or gas supply details, annual usage and contract end date. A signed lease is required before an arrangement can be considered, in every case.
Practical guide
Work through our step-by-step business energy review guide, then use the renewal checklist for extra detail on costs and terms.
Questions, answered
No pressure, no hidden switch and no obligation to accept an option.
An energy supply contract review checks how your current electricity or gas agreement fits your business and compares available renewal options. Start with recent bills, annual consumption, the contract end date and notice requirements. Then compare the estimated total cost, what can change during the term and what happens when it ends. Our business energy review guide helps you gather the details before deciding whether to renew or switch.
Group the checks into four areas: cost, contract risk, operational fit and service. For cost, compare unit rates, standing charges and any additional fees using the same annual usage. For contract risk, check fixed or variable pricing, the term, notice requirements and renewal provisions. For operational fit, consider your consumption pattern, meter arrangements and any planned premises changes. For service, check billing, account support and complaint handling. Higher-consumption businesses should also ask which charges are included or passed through separately.
Not necessarily. A comparison should use expected annual consumption together with standing charges, any other applicable fees and the full contract term. The total cost may differ from the headline pence-per-kWh rate.
No. SME Sorted does not charge your business for the review or introduction. If you choose a solution, the provider may pay SME Sorted a commission.
The final 12 months of your current contract is a useful time to review your next arrangement. If you are already out of contract or on variable rates, you can ask for a review now.
A recent electricity or gas bill is the best starting point. It normally shows your supplier, supply number, annual usage and contract end date. A signed lease is required in every case.
No. SME Sorted is not tied to one supplier but does not claim to search the whole market. The options available depend on participating suppliers, your location, usage and business requirements.
No. You remain in control throughout. Any contract is entered into directly with the chosen supplier, and nothing proceeds unless you decide to accept an option.

You have managed to give me back that valuable time and take away that stress with your extremely efficient and friendly service. Thank you so much. You will be highly recommended.”
